Independence

Avoir earns a commission when a referred application settles (see How We Make Money). No lender pays for placement, coverage, ranking, or a favourable mention. No lender reviews our content before it is published. Where we write about a lender on our panel, we say so on the page.

Who writes

Every research and guide page carries a named author. The author's bio links to a resolvable profile page. For most of our content that is James Baker. We do not publish anonymous or pseudonymous research.

Review cadence

Every page carrying a figure, a rate, or an eligibility criterion is reviewed at least every six months, and immediately on any material change to lender criteria, a regulator's benchmark, or tax law. The review date is printed on the page.

General advice only

Nothing on this site is financial or credit advice. It does not take into account any particular business's objectives or circumstances. Businesses should consider whether the information is appropriate for them and seek advice from a qualified accountant or adviser before acting.

AI-generated content

We will tell you the truth about how our content is made. Our guides and research are drafted with AI assistance and then reviewed, fact-checked, and edited by a named human, James Baker, before publishing. A person is accountable for every page that goes live.

AI is a drafting and research aid here, not the final authority. Where a figure matters, it is checked against a source on our Data Sources page by a human before it is published. We do not publish unreviewed machine output, and we do not claim a page was written by a human when it was not.

Corrections

When we get something wrong, we fix it in the open. Our full process, including how to report an error and how material corrections are logged, is set out in our Corrections Policy.
